Effect of Hypoxia on Plasma Erythropoietin in Rats

Abstract
|
|
|
After the rats being exposed to one half atmospheric pressure for 8 of each 24 hours from 1 to 6 days, the changes in plasma erythropoietin level were determined. The experimental results were as follows.
The significant -elevation in plasma erythropoietin level already appeared at 1 day-exposure group, peak levels were present at 3 days-exposure group, and erythropoietin levels gradually began to decline approximately to normal level from 4 days-exposure group.
